This bathroom renovation project involved knocking out a wall between the toilet and shower and creating a new bathroom plan. Managed by Switched On Building Solutions - the work was completed by both internal and external Trades.
Switched On Building Solutions complete many bathroom renovations each year in Christchurch and Wellington with our team of Master Builders, Painters, Electricians and subcontractors.
On this project, we worked closely with the client to ensure we were all on the same page with this exciting bathroom renovation. Any decision that we were unable to make for the client regarding design were passed onto our subbies Turtle Tiling, Hunter Plumbing and Plumbing World who were extremely helpful.
These decisions were then brought back in-house for us to install. The main work completed was knocking down the dividing wall, installing a tower unit between the windows to distract from the different window heights, tiling floors and half walls, upgrading to a dumper shower head and painting the walls.
The Project Manager completed regular site-checks to ensure all work was up to standard and running on schedule. It was great working with a client who had a clear vision for what they wanted but was still open to receiving guidance from our professionals. The client was happy to venture from a standard “white bathroom” and consequently, the end result looks great.
The Project Manager who worked with us on-site was amazing to deal with. He gave us some great inspiration and his suggestions were great. Eg. Where to put the mixers for the shower and bath, colour for grouting. All things that
we hadn’t even thought about. We love our bathroom. Everyone that sees it is super impressed with how it looks .In terms of functionality, we’re really glad we listened to the advice about putting in a bigger shower.
